MM looked at it, shake it a bit, then looked up at me and asked, "Is this peanut?"
(MM looooves peanuts.)

MM loves to go out.
Once, we were in his bedroom, and I asked him, "Do you want to go out?"
He immediately ran to the shoe cabinet to put on his shoes, in preparation for going out. Pointing to H's shoes, he said, "Uncle H, shoes."
(Meaning, Uncle H should put on his shoes quick so we can all go out!)

We were at the supermarket once. I asked him, "What do you want to buy?"
He said, "Apple."
But the apples weren't all that nice. With difficulty, I picked one out and handed it to him.
He looked at it and said, "Apple two."

MM's parents were teaching him Hokkien, and recently, he's learned to say, "bo" (in second intonation). In Hokkien, it means "no".
Once, we were in the car, and we drove past a church.
MM's mom said, "I think that's a church."
MM said, "I think it's bo."

H and I were going to Philippines for a vacation during Chinese New Year holidays, and MM's whole family came to send us off. MM was excited to see the airplanes, and throughout lunch, that's the only thought in his head.
Finally, when he finished eating, he said to his mom, "Go down."
His mom checked his diapers and said to us, "Parang basa." (Looks like it's wet.)
MM said, "No basa!" (Not wet.)
He was really excited to look at the airplanes. Unfortunately, his mother was right. His diaper was wet and we had to go change.

This is a story related to me by G, MM's dad.
MM and G were in the study (computer room), and G held up his iphone. He asked MM, "Whose phone is this?"
MM said, "Daddy."
Now, MM was holding his mom's iphone in his hand. G pointed at MM's hand and asked, "Whose phone is that?"
MM said, "MM." (with a cute little smile, I bet!)
G said, as though shocked, "Then where's Mommy's phone?"
MM ran outside to get the cordless phone. "This!"

As I've said previously, MM is attending pre-school.
As related by G, apparently, MM's teacher said that he's "musically inclined". It seems that one afternoon, as the kids were all having snacks, music was being played overhead. MM stood up and danced!

MM is also quite the joker.
Once, his teacher was asking, "Who's not sitting down?"
MM stood up, raised his hand and said, "Me."

(As related by G)
MM is learning grammar his own way.
MM knows the word, "sleeping".
Once, G was lying down, and he asked MM, "What is Daddy doing?"
MM said, "Lie down-ing."

According to J, MM's mom, MM was particularly naughty one morning and kept on harassing her when she was supposed to be cooking. To make him behave, she asked, "Do you want to go to the zoo?"
(H and I were going to take MM to the zoo that afternoon, but they haven't told him yet.)
MM said, "Yes."
J said, "Go and take your bath."
MM went with alacrity.
Later, that afternoon, he couldn't fall asleep for his nap. He was too excited to go to the zoo.
Finally, it was decided to go earlier and he could then sleep in the car. G said that when he went down with MM in the elevator, there was this big, big smile on his face!
