The Return

Hello again, MM!

Our favorite nephew is back in Singapore!

Okay, he's been back since the first week of January, in order to prepare for school.

Just 2 and he needs to go to school! Ack, what is the world coming to?

But school for him is more of play and socialization with other kids, so I guess that's ok. When asked, he'd say he didn't like school, but well, that may still change. And anyway, since when did saying "no" stop our parents from "dragging" us to school for nigh over ten years?

He's also a bit shy with me again, because he hasn't seen me for about a month and a half. Aside from Mommy and Daddy, his favorite person these days is Ah-pe (Uncle H). It's Ah-pe this or Ah-pe that.

"Let's play again,  Ah-pe!"
"One more time,  Ah-pe!"
"Again!"

H and I took him out last night to Vivo City to his favorite place -- the playground! He saw these children's cars that are being rented out for a fee for kids to ride within an enclosed area. Since it was nearing dinnertime, we told him that we'd come back for him to ride the car, after dinner. All throughout dinner, he kept saying, "want to ride MM's car". He never forgot Ah-pe's promise to ride the car later!

We thought he'd be scared riding the moving car, but apparently not! Not when he's the one driving it! Although he did keep looking to the side and not in front of him as he drove. He definitely needs more driving lessons from his  Ah-pe!

After the ride, we went to the supermarket to get some fruits. On the way there, yaya and I held his hands while H walked in front of us. After awhile, MM wriggled his hands out of ours, walked faster to reach H, then held up his hand VOLUNTARILY for H to hold!

This happened twice!

See what I mean by  Ah-pe being his favorite person?

Still, going out with him has benefits. He started to acknowledge that this doting aunt exists in his universe. When we went home, he happily read a book with me before going to bed. Then the next day, after lunch, he HELD my hand, led me to his room to read a book! Then, he wanted his Mommy inside the room as well, and he said for Ah-ko and Mommy to read book. That's fine. I will happily share with Mommy.
